Lilies, grasses, petticoats

I have developed a passion for impressionist art. I read a book awhile back about the private lives of the impressionists, and it was amazing to imagine these talented artists sitting in the coffee shop every day, scraping by, being rejected multiple times by the academies and society.

This is one of my favorite Degas painting. When I look at it, I see anxiety, readiness, and a urgency for perfectionism. I would smooth my tutu 20 times before I went on stage. We were checking each other's laces, buns, bobby pins, and ruffles. Because we wanted each other to look beautiful, to be seen as one giant piece of artistry and grace.

Below is some Monet and the last painting is by Manet.
I love portraits of women primping, because there is always so much entailed in a woman's beauty routine, and the wonderment is it still remains that way.

Who would win in a fight, Monet or Manet?

It's a question that has puzzled art historians for decades.

hm...I don't know. Manet I think. He was kinda hostile. Claude was a calm soul.

i love this about you because i've been intrigued and mildly obsessed with Monet since i was in elementary school. I learned about him in an advanced art class and started collecting calendars, magazines, pretty much anything with his work in it. I had his print of "The Reader" hanging in my room for the longest time.

Impressionism is just very very magical and special. I love the way it makes me feel when I look at it. :]
