I will always remember today. I watched our President's swearing in on the little tv in my office...I had a few students filter in to ask me questions and such, but I was able to see everything! It was great to see the millions of(shivering) people that came-it is moments like that where you can feel pride and a deep devotion to your country. They came from everywhere, and they were damn determined to see their President! As wonderful, fulfilling, and beautiful everything was, I could not help but wish that I had someone to share it with....

Today is also my birthday. But it doesn't really feel like my birthday. As you get older and you find yourself in different environments and in different places of life than you expected, the day can lose its luster. It was a busy, stressful day, and many different emotions/thoughts/lists of things that need to be accomplished are running through my head. Trying to keep my chin up, I am determined to make 2009 a good year for me.
