white dashes

Article of annoyance:

I HATE when semi-truck drivers, for NO reason whatsoever, there is NO slow person in front of them, get into the fast lane, and reside there for a long time. I think they do it just to piss all of us drivers in small cars off. I was behind a semi in the fast lane for about 10 minutes too long. There is no reason why they need to be in that lane-especially when the highway just has two lanes. They need to stay in the right hand lane where they belong. I think it needs to be in the constitution-that along with every citizen needs to work in a restaurant at some point in their lives. Both are very important rules of life, I should think.

So I am home. And it is great. Let the great sale shopping, favorite Borders coffee shop all day sitting, kitten & dog playing, wine drinking, awkward conversing with people you dislike from high school, sleeping immensely, movie watching, eating a lot, not working, and 584540 other fabulous things about home begin.

I have decided to buy my mother an MP3 player for Christmas. She needs to join the rest of us in this technologically driven society. When she works out at our rec, she wears her huge radio/headset thing that she likes, but does not realize how 1980s it looks. She is a cool, hip lady that does not look her real age whatsoever, and I will make her look even more so with this extraordinary christmas present. She still doesn't know how to use her cell phone after 2 years, and she doesn't know how to email ( or turn on a computer, for that matter), but my dad and I are in high hopes that an MP3 player for when she works out is a grand idea. I am up to the challenge of teaching her how to use it. I am hoping the fellas at Radio Shack will have an amazing deal for me. Maybe if I bat my eyelashes and insert some flirtation I will get a good deal. It will never cease to amaze me the power of the vagina.

I am determined to find this new coffee table book......I read about it in last month's VOGUE. It isn't in ANY book stores ( I have looked with their computer search thing in the store), which is crazy frustrating. I have a fascination with the royals circa 1600-1800's-their palaces, their lives, their possessions, their relationships, their societial & cultural expectations. I will probably end up ordering it....until then I will keep looking. I am not a fan of online purchasing. Too many textbook screw-ups!!!
